A group of researchers of the TU Wien and the Universität Wien present the concepts of research projects they are preparing for a Special Research program (Spezialforschungsbereich) for the Austrian Science Fund (FWF-Der Wissenschaftfonds)
In interdisciplinary teams the program aims to bundle existing research on the traditional architecture of the Indonesian archipelago and try to close existing gaps focusing on outstanding features of the traditional Indonesian architecture in terms of climate adaptation and earthquake resistance. Those findings will be used to develop new methods to apply sophisticated traditional approaches in future innovative and sustainable design and planning concepts.
